Start Offering Manicures with Used Manicure Stations

January 31st, 2009 by admin

You can lose a lot of business to other salons if you can’t offer certain services, such as manicures, that customers expect from such establishments. Even if customers love patronizing your business, they may be drawn elsewhere when they want services that you can’t provide. By buying used manicure stations, you can affordably outfit your salon with what you need to offer manicures, so that customers not only stay with you, but recommend you to friends and family members. Manicure stations are a great way to make room for manicures, and used stations are often very well-kept and have a lot of useful life left in them.

Smokers and Weight Loss

January 30th, 2009 by admin

Sneer if you will, but this is the way some smokers think: Smoking helps you remain thin; thin is beautiful; therefore, if you stop smoking, you’ll get fat and ugly.

One expert, Dr. Lynn Kozlowski, says it comes up all the time by means of gain weight foods, in his dealings with smokers considering kicking the habit. Advertisers have taken advantage of this fear. In the 1930s, one tobacco campaign urged people to reach for a Lucky instead of a sweet.

Some non-smoking programs recognize that smokers, especially women, are under pressure from a society that values trimness. They hear horror stories of ex-smokers who ballooned 50 kilograms (110 pounds).

Scientists Report the Health Benefits of Saunas

January 24th, 2009 by admin

I suppose it’s not proper etiquette to call scientists conservative or slow to jump on the health bandwagon, but sometimes I think it’s true. Even though the results are still mixed, scientists are starting to admit that there are a number of health benefits of sauna sessions. They haven’t found any difference between steamroom saunas and infrared saunas as far as benefits of sauna sessions go, but they do admit that saunas are helpful in getting rid of the toxins that keep building up in our bodies each time we eat or drink anything, or even breathe in the air. I don’t know if they would go so far as to say that the mixte saunas of Paris are all that healthy, though.
