About Used Salon Furniture

October 15th, 2009 by admin

I’ve been curious lately about used salon furniture.
Equipment costs are going to be my biggest expense at the outset, so saving on that can make a big difference.
A friend of mine who owns a salon has mentioned the benefits of used salon reception desks to me several times, and I have to say I’m convinced.
As long as I’m careful to buy quality, my customers will never know the difference.
I’ll keep you posted.

Makeup That Looks Right For Me

July 31st, 2009 by admin

I like looking natural and fresh. When it comes to my face, I know I do not like things on my face that make me look older than I am. That means that I don’t want a lot of things caked on. That is why I really like bare minerals makeup. It is so light and easy to apply, but it so effortlessly hides any flaws that I have. It is the best solution that I have found to looking natural, and still being able to hide any imperfections that I might have. I love this more than any other line I have tried.

Start Offering Manicures with Used Manicure Stations

January 31st, 2009 by admin

You can lose a lot of business to other salons if you can’t offer certain services, such as manicures, that customers expect from such establishments. Even if customers love patronizing your business, they may be drawn elsewhere when they want services that you can’t provide. By buying used manicure stations, you can affordably outfit your salon with what you need to offer manicures, so that customers not only stay with you, but recommend you to friends and family members. Manicure stations are a great way to make room for manicures, and used stations are often very well-kept and have a lot of useful life left in them.

When you start a business, you will probably end up counting every penny spent in order to get off to a great start financially. Many times, you will find that you end up spending more than you had budgeted or anticipated, so any time that you can save money, you probably should do so. Buying used salon equipment is a great way for new salon owners to do just that. Since much of the equipment that you will need to start your salon can get to be very expensive, saving a huge percentage off of the new cost by purchasing previously owned equipment is often a great idea.

What does a Portable Esthetician Chair look like?

November 29th, 2008 by admin

If you have ever seen the type of equipment that an Esthetician uses for their work, you know that the chairs that they use look almost like exercise machines. The Portable Esthetician Chair looks even more like an exercise machine than the stationary ones due to the fact that they have to be made to fold up. These chairs can be say on either frontwards or backwards depending on the type of service that the consumer is going to get. But, they are basically made up of the middle frame and the cushions are built on this frame so when you do sit on one, you feel like you are going to exercise instead of relax.

The Best Way to Equip Your Salon

November 28th, 2008 by admin

The most expensive equipment you need in a nail salon is the pedicure chair. These can run into the thousands, but you don’t have to pay that much. You can buy used pedicure chairs at a fraction of what new equipment costs. Many salon owners don’t know where to buy used equipment and that is why they usually end up buying new chairs, but you can find used equipment at the same distributor who sells you new, you just need to ask for it. You can also search for companies that deal exclusively with used equipment. Many salon owners don’t consider this option because of the belief that the used pedicure chairs are not sanitized. But distributors that sell used equipment are obligated by law to sanitize all of their used pedicure chairs. If you are starting your own nail salon, you want to seriously consider the option of used pedicure chairs.

Dry Skin Care Treatment Options

October 13th, 2008 by admin

Dry skin is one of the very common skin types among the others. Also the skin type of a person could turn dry with ageing, as the sebaceous glands starts secreting less oil. Scaly flakes characterize the dry skin and may cause severe inflammations in later stages. People with dry skin are prone to get dermatitis, especially when the atmosphere is less humid. Dry skin has higher probabilities to face problems like aging. It has very minute pores so they look taut and flaky. The best way to keep dry skin healthy is to use moisturizers and sunscreen lotions with Sun Protection Factor (SPF) more than 30 and avoid soaps, detergents and toners for the best dry skin care treatment. It is always advisable for the dry skin to remove make-up and use cleanser at night, before sleep. The dermatologists recommend fish oil and Vitamin E capsules to maintain the moisture and glow in the skin for a dry skin type.

Getting blepharoplasty done as an outpatient procedure

September 23rd, 2008 by admin

Blepharoplasty is usually done in an outpatient setting under local anesthesia, where your surgeon injects numbing medication into your eyelids and administers intravenous (IV) medication to make you relax. Blepharoplasty will not eliminate wrinkles around the eye area or lift your eyebrows, and to eliminate wrinkles around the eyes, you should consider a face lift , and to raise the eyebrows, a brow lift. Blepharoplasty is most frequently performed on men and women over age 35, and as the eyes age the delicate tissue around the eyes begins to stretch and can produce sagging in the eyelid and bagginess below the eye.

Microdermabrasion can treat your Stretch Marks!

September 19th, 2008 by admin

What a revelation!  I have these old, white stretch marks from pushing out my three bundles of joy…don’t get me wrong, I love my kids…but I sure don’t love those reminders of them!  I recently was surfing the net and I found out that good ol’ run of the mill microdermabrasion which I’ve been doing for years to keep my face looking young (I may have three grown kids, but I don’t have to look like I do).  Yes, known easily as microdermabrasion for stretch marks it works just the same way it does on your face, sanding off the dead cells so new cells can regenerate with brand new collagen, thus reducing the appearance of you know what.  Now if I could only get back my black hair that my kids turned gray… :)
