Side Effects of Eating a Medium Chain Triglyceride Diet

Most studies that have been conducted on both animals and human beings show that MCT’s are relatively safe when a total dietary fat content level of 50% is consumed. Some of the side effects reported when medium chain triglycerides were given on an empty stomach were mild stomach cramps and occasional bloating. The advice given from researchers was to take your triglyceride supplements with food. Study findings are not conclusive on the safeness for women who are pregnant, mothers who are currently nursing as well as children and people with serious kidney or liver problems who choose to partake in a medium chain triglyceride diet.
